If I recall correctly, I read somewhere, concerning
Martha in 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf' doing
Bette Davis saying "What a dump", that Davis had
never actually said that in a movie.
Maybe what she had said was close, though, just as
nobody ever said "Play it again, Sam" in 'Casablanca.'
I saw the movie Cal. In the story she and her doctor husband had moved to a
small town and he took her to the new house he had bought for her. She
walked in , looked around and made that statement as only she could do.
The movie also starred Joseph Connto as her husband and David Brian as the
lover.
