Deniro has paid his dues, made his bones, and contributed greatly to
the art. I can't blame him for wanting to finally cash in and make
himself a nice pile this late in his career. Meryl Streep has
occasionally indulged in similar behavior, but she's avoided the out
and out populist crap films. It must be galling to Streep and DeNiro
that The Rock has a nicer mansion in Beverly Hills and a nicer
townhouse in NYC just because his films appeal to the lowest common
denominator. |
