If I had to guess, I'd guess that the guy in question isn't claiming that
his story was lifted *exactly* as a documentary of his life. Instead, he
will likely claim that enough of his story has been lifted to warrant his
getting paid, while the rest of the story elements that were tacked on to
his life story are completely unrealistic.
