The six Oscars for "The Hurt Locker" shows that accuracy
means absolutely nothing when it comes to the popular and
critical success of movies about the military. "The Hurt Locker"
is one of the most inaccurate depictions of the military ever
filmed, with American veterans' groups outraged at all the
mistakes. http://tinyurl.com/ydkbf7a
Anyone with any basic knowledge of modern warfare will
be extremely annoyed at all the mistakes. But these mistakes
are all excused because supposedly they were necessary
to create drama. Sorry, but I prefer films that achieve
drama while sticking to the basic facts about the military.

The fact that "The Hurt Locker" is basically a propaganda
movie for an illegal war of aggression makes its triumph
at the Oscars even more tasteless.
