Well, I really wouldn't care what others would think. I'd drive myself
crazy factoring that into my decision making. I've found panhandlers
to be fairly non-aggressive. I generally tend to be unafraid... I'm
kind big myself! ;-)
There's a couple of men who frequent the exit ramp I use for my
commute to work. The stop light is fairly long, so they have plenty of
time to walk the line of cars waiting for the light to change. I
should add they are never there together. It's either one or the
other.
I don't give them money. I give them food. Last spring, for example, I
made some sandwiches from our leftover Easter ham and gave whoever was
there at the time got lunch.
I also give canned goods if they are there.
