I like your list, Bill. Great job!
For me I'll add...
The Thing from Another World... love that snappy Howard Hawks-directed
dialogue.
Just about any atomic age monster movie... Gorgo, The Giant Behemoth,
The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms and on and on. I really like cheese!
The Searchers
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Stagecoach
Animal House... Harold Ramis and I graduated from the same
university... wustl.edu
The Secret of Roan Inish... A magical (I know, an overused term) film
by John Sayles... highly recommended!
Most of the b&w Universal horror films of the '30s & '40s... mmm, more
cheese!
Goodfellas... my favorite Scorsese film... it's like driving past a
bad car wreck... you know you shouldn't look, but can't help yourself.
A Christmas Story... I love this movie. Period.
Plus most of the other on Bill's list.
Great thread.
