Disclaimer: I didn't mind any physics problems in the recent King
Kong. I got a little bored when each dinosaur scene went on for 33%
too long; otherwise, I liked the movie.
That said, now I'm thinking about the physics.
I'm thinking about a giant ape launching himself (say, to jump over
something). It's hard to say how fast he could get himself going on
the way UP, but it occurs to me that we absolutely know how fast he
would come DOWN.
The second half of any of his leaps, I would expect him to look
roughly like a man jumping over something on the moon. That kind of
"slow motion" look, at least in relationship to the size of his body.
Did we get any scenes where King Kong leapt, or fell, where we could
judge if he was falling at the right speed vs. too fast? |
