I'm not going back into that mess to check, but I seem to remember a
very grating courtroom scene in Girls' Town or High School Confidential
or something else forgettable, and Mamie Van Doren enters, and the
acting TV announcer calls her "Mamie Van Doren type ..." and covering
the trial is Walter Winchell, who greets her with, "Would you like a
screen test?"

They shoulda canceled his column. It ached, even in that environment.
