I can be a real prude as well, but I liked it anyway. There are quite a few
intriguing movies which are about . but not in a lascivious way... rather,
about how we big-brained humans will behave under the influence of our
biological urges, and how we try to make sense of them no matter how weird
they may be. I've long maintained that _Eyes Wide Shut_ is highly underrated,
as it scores very well in that regard; most of the negative word of mouth is
probably from people who swallowed the hype and believed that Kubrick, of all
people, would create some sort of ultimate . experience.
I saw _Last Tango_ just a few days after I saw _Exorcist: The Beginning_,
too. Poor Vittorio Storaro. What a long way he's come.
